Ed Sullivan - Economist a Few Layers Deep
For over two decades, Ed Sullivan served as a Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Market Intelligence at a top cement association. During that time, his forecasts about the construction and cement industries helped redefine corporate strategies, guide financial sector analyses, and provide fact-based insights for national media. about the "real world" issues. In addition to being an award-winning economist, Ed has supported industry advocacy on Capitol Hill, including testimony before the U.S. Congress.

Earlier in his career, Ed held senior economic positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, Standard & Poor’s, and even Wharton Economics - where he collaborated with Nobel Laureate Lawrence Klein. He also contributed analyses that played key roles in shaping major U.S. trade policies and initiatives such as Japan’s Voluntary Automotive Export Restraints, and the development of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Ed’s distinguished public service includes his tenure as a senior intelligence officer at the Central Intelligence Agency, where he received a commendation from then–Deputy Director of Intelligence Bob Gates (later U.S. Secretary of Defense). He also served as an analyst in the office of Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy.
